KALI BÖNPO

Just great this Kali

The menu icon Menu Icon takes you to the table of contents.

What awaits you here?

Here you will find everything to prepare the Bön and much more to Tantra and especially to the Dzogchen teachings: Bön, meditation, basic exercises, preparatory exercises, Tönpa Shenrab, Sherab Chamma, Shenla Ökar, mind of enlightenment, refuge, confession, Mandala givings, guru yoga, prostrations, mantra, mantra recitation, Chöd, Bardo, Tummo, warrior germ syllables, dream yoga, sleep yoga, Tsa Lung, Dzogchen, Dzogchen meditation, Trekchö and Thögal.

Mahakali

First of all, you can expect detailed teachings about the complete sanctuary in the Bön, secondly, there are then in a similar style teachings on Dzogchen, which, however, also includes some Tantra sections. The whole thing is not as HTML files, but as PDF files, which you can print if necessary. I'll probably encrypt the second part, Dzogchen, so that you'll need a password from me, which will also be free as soon as I know how far-reaching your meditation experience is. Nonetheless, there are also audio files for the first and second parts that you can listen to instead of reading.

After the Chöd practice in the table of contents, I recommend recording it in a meditation session. This means that each audio file, unless it is a meditation guide (without background music), for example, in an evening meditation install. By doing so, you understand what is meant better, and your mind is happy to do something that is known to it. However, if you put a lot of focus on emptiness into this meditation, then the mind slowly gets used to Dzogchen.

To do this, you can first do the Nine Purifying Breathings in conjunction with Inner Refuge.

Take the five-point meditation posture. Sit cross-legged, spine straight, chest open, hands resting in the Mudra of Equanimity (palms up, left hand resting on right hand), about four fingers below the navel below slightly bent forward.

Visualize the three channels

The blue central channel goes straight through the center of the body. It is visualized in size by the stem of a bamboo arrow and it widens slightly from the heart to the opening at the top of the head. The side channels, one white, the other red, are slightly narrower in diameter than the central channel and connect to the central channel at its base. The connection of the channels is four fingers below the navel. The side channels in the body on both sides of the central channel straight up, curve under the skull and go behind the eyes down to open each in a nostril. The right channel is white and represents method, the left channel is red and represents wisdom.

The first three breaths

Lift the right hand and press the base of the ring finger with your thumb. Close the right nostril with the ring finger. Inhale the pure air element in the form of green light through the left nostril and fill with it the red channel. Move your hand over to the other side of your nose and close your left nostril with the right ring finger as you exhale through the right nostril. Imagine that the air moves up the white channel and is released in the form of blue-gray smoke. With each exhalation, wind-related illnesses, obstacles caused by disabling male ghosts, and mental obscurations associated with aversion and anger, along with influences from the past, are expelled through the white channel.

The second three breaths

Change the hand and nostril and inhale the pure air element through the right nostril. Green light fills the white channel. Then close the right white channel and exhale the impure air through the left red channel upwards and in the form of red-gray air. With each exhalation through the red channel, diseases associated with bile, obstacles caused by disabling female ghosts, and mental obscurations associated with attachment, desire, and greed, along with influences from the future, are expelled.

The third three breaths

With the hands in the mudra of equanimity, you inhale the pure air element in the form of green light through both nostrils. The rough exhalation of impure air passes through both nostrils. The subtle wind moves up through the central channel and beyond the highest point on the head in the form of dark smoke. With exhalation, diseases associated with phlegm, nagas-induced obstacles, and mental obscurations associated with ignorance, lack of trust and doubt, along with contemporary influences, are expelled.

Tsa (Channel)
RANG LÜ GYAL WE KYIL KHOR Ü
YÖN TEN MA LÜ JUNG WE NE
TSA SUM KHOR LO NGA YI LONG
TONG PE KU LA KYAP SU CHI

First refuge: Body
The center of the victorious mandala, one's own body,
The source of all positive qualities without exception,
Is the expanse within the three channels and the five chakras.
I take refuge in this body of emptiness.

Lung (Wind)
DUK NGEL PUNG PÖ TREN TSOK KÜN
YE SHE LUNG GI RAP SEL TE
MA CHÖ KA DAK NAM KHE LONG
Ö KYI KU LA KYAP SU CHI

Second refuge: Speech
All the gathered clouds of suffering and misery
Are completely cleared by the wisdom wind,
Revealing the unelaborated, primordially pure expanse of the sky.
I take refuge in this body of light.

Tigle (Sphere of light)
YE SHE Ö NGE GUR KHANG NE
NYI ME TIG LE Ö ZER TRÖ
MA RIK MÜN PE DRA WA SANG
DE CHEN KU LA KYAP SU CHI

Third refuge: Mind
From the pavilion of the five wisdom lights,
Rays of non-dual spheres of light emanate,
Clearing the webs of the darkness of ignorance.
I take refuge in this body of great bliss.

Meditation

Just bring your full attention inward. Allow your body to fully settle and rest. Allow your speech breath to settle and rest. Allow your mind to settle and rest.(30 Sek)

Bring your attention to your heart, particularly the openness of the heart. From that place of openness, feel the presence of Tapihritsa in the sky in front of us as in the thangka behind me. Clear, luminous being surrounded be a rainbow, whose essence is our own nature of mind, but manifested to protect us, to guide us and to help us, particularly those who see it and those who are connected. Feel the presence. Tapihritsa represents the union of all the Masters of the past, present and future. Particularly Tapihritsa represents one's own Root Master. (30 Sek)

Naturally, try to feel the connection, when we pray from that connection: «Please help me, help us to purify all our karma, afflictions, our pain, conflict, challenges, to help us recognize our own true nature and to discover all of our potential qualities for the welfare of oneself and others. Help me, help us, to help others».

Gradually, imagine from Tapihritsa comes like a rain, like a white rain, milky water, enters into your crown. Like taking a shower, a pure nectar comes down and enters through all your body, every part of your body — organs, cells, it cleans everything. This water is coming as if you were taking a shower. Continuously coming and purifying. Feel that, imagine that. Particularly in areas where you feel numb, pain, blocked or sick. Continue. Take time. Like taking a shower, but an internal shower, cleaning the inner dimension of the body. (30 Sek)

And if there is any specific, particular things that you feel that you need to purify, you bring it to your consciousness and to your awareness and let the water purify you. Or you ask Tapihritsa to help purify that. A personal, internal communication.

And, gradually, just be aware and feel that the body is, like after a good shower, feeling internally clean, purified, fresh. And it's ready to be perfected with blessings of the body, speech, and mind. We pronounce, sing the «A». Three times. As we sing «A», imagine from the forehead of Tapihritsa with an «A» white light, comes directly into your forehead; and you receive all the empowerment of the body. You feel the connection of your body, connection with your body, transmission of the body.

  • «A» [first]
  • «A» [second]
  • «A» [third] (30 Sek)

Now, as we sing the «OM» from the throat of Tapihritsa, a red «OM» red light, directly coming to your throat, receive all the empowerment of the speech.

  • «OM» [first]
  • «OM» [second]
  • «OM» [third] (30 Sek)

Now, as we sing the syllable «HUNG», imagine the blue «HUNG» from the heart of Tapihritsa, to your heart, directly to your heart, with a beam of blue light, you receive all the empowerment of mind. Feel the heart connection and heart blessings.

  • HUNG» [first]
  • HUNG» [second]
  • HUNG» [third] (30 Sek)

Just continuously feel the beam of blue light, the blessings from the heart continuously coming. (30 Sek)

Gradually, Tapihritsa dissolves into the light; and the light dissolves into your crown. All the light is also in you, you just become one essence or unified fully with the essence of Tapihritsa. No separation, no difference. That sense of oneness, who you are is Tapihritsa. Rest in that for a moment. (1 Min)

Dedication

PE GE WA GANG GYI PA

KHAM SUM SEM
CHEN NAM KYI DÖN DU NGO

DUK SUM SAK
PE LE DRIP KÜN JANG NE

KU SUM DZOK
PE SANG GYE NYUR TOP SHOK

All pure virtue done through the three doors,
I dedicate to the welfare of all sentient beings of the three realms.
Having purified all afflictions and obscurations of the three poisons,
May we swiftly achieve the complete buddhahood of the three bodies.

Dedication prayer

KYAP NE SUM LA DING CHEN TOP PAR
SHOK GO SUM NYAM TOK YE SHE GYE PAR SHOK
DUK SUM DAK NE KU SUM TOP PAR SHOK
RANG GYÜ DRÖL NE ZHEN LA PEN PAR SHOK

May I gain great confidence in the three refuges.
May my experiences and my realization of wisdom of the three gates increase.
By purifying the three poisons, may I receive the three bodies.
By liberating myself in my own being, may I benefit others.

Sherab Chamma

Now let Sherab Chamma arise in the room in front of you, she's the one giving you the teachings, and now add the audio part of each text. Before or after, you can still offer prayers to Sherab Chamma if you so desire. Her mantra is: OM MA WA MA DE MA HI MO HA E MA HO MA YE RU PA YE TA DU DU SO HA.

Then, Sherab Chamma dissolves into light that shines into you and everything becomes emptiness. Linger in this emptiness until thoughts or other disturbances reappear. Then a pure world is born again, everything is fresh and new, full of unlimited possibilities. You also emerge from the room and make the final dedication (either one or both).
