More than 50 years ago, the Tibetan Buddhist Bön tradition was expelled from its sanctuary deep in the Himalayas. This is the story of the long and difficult journey that followed. Through the portrayal of a Bön teacher in exile, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, this film reveals something very valuable and very ancient: a rich spiritual heritage whose secret teachings, hidden for millennia, have only now become known to the world. There is probably no uninterrupted spiritual tradition older than Bön whose beginnings can be traced back to a Buddha thousands of years before Buddha Shakyamuni. But today that tradition faces perhaps its greatest challenge yet: preserving the rich history of the land and its birth.
