Brain, nervous system, eyes, ears, nose ― Physical manifestations of dysfunction of the brow chakra pertain to the brain and can be as wide ranging as basic headaches to the most devastating effects of strokes or even brain tumors. Also eyes and ears issues such as mild vision problems to blindness, mild hearing issues to deafness.

The brow chakra or third eye governs wisdom and perhaps what we might describe as the seer. It’s the part of us that hears things in the silence and sees things that are seemingly not there.

The Sanskrit name of the chakra ― Ajna ― means command. A sign that we now have insights into our wisdom and knowledge and possess the ability to discriminate.

The thoughts residing here are conceptual, intellectual and abstract. For the first time, here we begin to experience spirituality through direct experience.

Indigo is the color of royalty, of mystery and faith, and instructs us that knowledge found here goes beyond ordinary, it exists outside of our traditional knowledge state, and rests further than our regular time perception.

Just two petals are found in the symbology of this chakra, one for the Self, one for God. Facing one another, but not yet unified.

In the same way, it could be seen to portray the two sides of the brain and also the parts of the pituitary gland, which it also rules.
