Moon Salutation — Chandra Namaskar

The Moon Salutation is the yin counterpart of the more yang-oriented Sun Salutation. It works balancing and calming, yet activating in a gentle way. The Moon Salutation can be practiced on its own, as a balancing practice in the evening to calm down, or it can precede a gentle yin practice. Unlike the Sun Salutation, the Moon Salutation is practiced athwart the mat, that means from side to side and not from front to back.

We practice the Moon Salutation once slowly to each side and then once in the flow.
